About compare-it

(logo)

Today there are a lot of platforms comparing any kind of products. They list advantages and disadvantages, recommend the best product and even show to cheapest shop. Don’t get me wrong these platforms are great and I use them a lot. Nevertheless all of these platforms are strictly narrowed for commercial products. Furthermore they don’t follow an approach to involve the community. Consider the following scenario, your project leader or manager gives you the task to search and find a suitable application server for the new product. I guess like everyone else you’ll start by using a search engine thinking “Somebody out there for sure wrote a comparison about application server!” and YES there are a lot of comparisons. But most of them are confusing and unstructured. Further they hardly point out what you’re really looking for. So you keep searching and searching over hours without getting a clear result. How nice would it be if those authors had had the chance to create their comparisons on a single community based platform or update and rate if someone already created one? That would make the work of many people really easy and less annoying as they could save a lot of time.
