In software like photoshop or gimp while editing an image/layer/selection via the brightness/contrast curve, once the brightness/contrast curve tool/filter is selected a dialog is shown (showing the user an editable curve representing the values of brightness/contrast in the image) and the current (mouse) tool automatically switches to the color picker. By clicking on the image with the color picker a "point" is shown in the curve representing where in the curve the value picked in the image is. This is quite useful because this way is far easier to spot where the value picked by the mouse is, instead having to be "forced" to play around with the curve until you find out where the value you want to modify is. Once the changes are made by the user, and the ok button is pressed, the current tool (the color picker) switches back to the previously selected too before the brightness/contrast curve filter was run (paint, gradient, text ...). You can find an image that might explain this better here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-WzkHdntpI-ZUdpZ2l3M3c2Y0E/edit?usp=sharing Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load the image. 2. Select bightness/contrast curve from: Filter > Adjust. 3. The dialog appears. 4. The current selected tool (brush/paint/gradient/text...) doesn't switch to the color picker. 5. If the user clicks on the image krita acts as is the contrast/brightness curve dialog wasn't present. 6. The user make changes to the image. 8. The user press the ok button. 9. The changes are made to the image. Actual Results: 1. Expected Results: 1. Load the image. 2. Select bightness/contrast curve from: Filter > Adjust. 3. The dialog appears. 4. The current selected tool (brush/paint/gradient/text...) automatically switches to the color picker. 5. If the user clicks on the image, the value in brightness/contrast picked by the mouse is shown in the curve by a "point" in the curve. 6. The rest just works as it is now. 7. The user make changes to the image. 8. The user press the ok button. 9. The changes are made to the image. 10. The previously selected tool for the mouse switches back to the previous used tool (brush/paint/gradient/text...).

So, I like using Gpick and Mypaint to create palletes. Yet when I open my fancy palettes in Krita, only a few of the swatches show up, or none at all. I've tried looking at the files in gedit, but I can't for the life of me figure out why Krita shows swatches on some and no swatches on others... I'll attach some palette files in a bit. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Make a gpl file in Mypaint or Gpick 2. Open it in Krita 3. Observe

Hi, Krita dev, I'm zh_CN translator of Krita. Here's the case I met. 1. You have to git clone the whole "calligra" which is _huge_ and _slow_ to `extracti18n.pl > i18ndata` 2. the "i18ndata" file is useless for translators because it doesn't tell where the string is from. 3. you have to `grep -r "string" ./data` to find which brush/pattern file the string is located. 4. you have to open the .gih .gbr .pat to see how the file actually looks like Then you can see how to translate the file properly. because "M_01" is really not a good name and translation. So can you please: 1. modify "extracti18n.pl" to include the source path 2. place the generated better "i18ndata" file in git repo by default. So translators can just view i18ndata online and get clear information. 3. use descriptive and unambiguous names for those .gih .gbr .pat files. eg: "Canvas Covered" is really not a good name in Krita. Because Krita itself uses "Canvas" as a functional reserved name. Since it's a .pat file, the file name should be "blue-white jeans with villus" if you open and view it in gimp. eg1: "Pipe_01", it should be "iron_pipe_with_seamed_edge". something like that. if you're a designer youself, you must agree that Krita will be more user-friendly if a tool tells _exactly_ what it can do other than just a numbered word. Greetings Marguerite Reproducible: Always

Tools that use the same brush as the freehand tool, (line tool, raster shape tools, poly line) do not show the brush outline, giving no indication of the size/shape of the current brush. For some of these tools, there could be arguments in favour of only showing the outline when it changes, i.e. brush resized. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set cursor shape to brush outline 2. Select Line tool (or similar. also affect poly line etc.) 3. (Optional) Change the brush size Actual Results: No brush outline. Difficult to tell what size the brush is. Expected Results: Show brush outline just like with freehand tool (They use the same brush)

Only the preset panel supports search by name and list-type view. Gradients, patterns and predefined brushes resource choosers should work consistently with the preset chooser.

Version: svn trunk OS: Linux It would be great if it was possible to see currently selected color in a pop-up palette. I mean there should be some area of at least 1cm in size filled with the color to make the process easier. And the color of this area should synchronize with moving of the selector. Version: unspecified OS: Linux I'd like to have a feature to resize a file using something similar to this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/imageenlarger/ The advantage to have it integrated in Krita is to be able to use it on several layers at a time. Then it would be perfect if we could have different settings/layer. (You could call the feature "Magic Scale" and put it in the menu, near classic "Scale to new size" entry) Reproducible: Didn't try
